Hi. I’m Michelle. I’m a freelance writer and poet living in Charlottesville, Virginia. I studied English Literature at Indiana University and am currently an MFA candidate in poetry at the University of Virginia.

I am the author of two books of poetry:
VOID SETS and How To Keep Full in February (Out of print)

I’ve worked in editing, copy-editing, journalism, grant writing, PR, and technical writing on behalf of Monster House Press, Indiana University Writers' Conference, The Limestone Post, Cardinal Spirits, Winspear Record Label & Artist Management, my friends and peers.

From 2017-2018, I co-founded and co-curated Monster House Presents, a grant-funded reading & event series in Bloomington, Indiana that showcased emerging and established poets, writers, and artists from across the US.

I’ve led several free, all ages creative workshops through Monster House Press, Rhinos Youth Center, and the City of Bloomington.

From 2012 to 2017, I co-founded and co-curated The Second Sunday Poetry Open Mic (formerly First Friday) event series, a monthly free and all ages open mic night.

I am home to Indiana.
